Welcome to the Jacksonville Harvard Business School Club

Your enthusiasm and energy helps build and maintain a vibrant club: Get Involved!

Dear Fellow Members and Alumni,
After my previous appointment as treasurer, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as the new president of our beloved club,  I look forward to continuing the legacy of excellence established by my predecessors.

For those of you that don't know me, I have been fortunate to move to Jacksonville 5 years ago with Deutsche Bank to build the Equity trading business. Having lived and worked across the globe (Morocco, Paris, London, Silicon Valley, Boston and NY), I am proud to say that I feel blessed along with my wife Rachel and our four children, to be part of this wonderful community. This led me earlier this year to venture into my first entrepreneurial experience by starting MarketCipher Partners, an alternative investment firm. I have also joined Jacksonville University as a resource Finance professor, where I will be teaching an investment class to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

In the next couple of months, I intend to reach out to each of you individually to get to know each other. More importantly, I look forward to hearing your ideas on how we can make our club better. Together, we can continue to build a leading platform that has a positive impact on the Jacksonville community by not only discussing intriguing business and social topics, but also establishing a greater sense of connectedness between HBS alumni and the local community.

After four successful events this past fiscal year, we will be releasing a set of exciting events very soon. So please, stay tuned. In the meantime, you will be receiving correspondence from Paypal to renew your membership. Alternatively, you can visit our website at: http://www.hbsjax.org/renew. Your continued support and active participation is critical to our success. We truly appreciate it!

Last by not least, I would like to thank Eric Pachman, our outgoing president for the fantastic job he has done during his tenure. I can attest to Eric’s strive for excellence having worked closely with him under his leadership. Eric has recently moved to Ohio to take advantage of a unique professional and personal opportunity. I would like to thank Eric for his mentorship and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. Below is a parting message from Eric.

Kind Regards,

HBS Club of Jacksonville

Dear Club Members and Alumni

Happy August! Hopefully everyone has taken full advantage of a relaxing (but seriously hot!) summer, and is ready to start another exciting fiscal year with the HBS Club of Jacksonville. Just as has been the case in prior years, the Club’s FY17 events are sure to excite, inspire, and mostly importantly, bring the HBS Jacksonville community closer together.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to continue on this journey with you this year. About six weeks, ago I got an offer to run a small health care company in Dayton, Ohio – which happens to be the town where my wife grew up. While it was a difficult decision, ultimately I just could not pass on the opportunity to advance my career, while also bringing my wife closer to her family. So I accepted the role, and I am now writing this note to you from a near-empty house on the outskirts of Dayton. Quite a wild ride!

I do regret not being able to complete my term as President of the Club. Last year was such a rush – four very successful events, excellent member participation, and new partnerships with esteemed organizations in the community. I couldn’t have hoped for a better year, and I can’t thank all of you enough for your engagement, coaching, encouragement, and friendship! Thanks to you, I am a better professional, leader, and person.

In closing, thank you all for a wonderful year. I hope you had as much fun as I did, and learned as much as I did as well.

All the best!

Eric Pachman
