Michael Ward, HBS MBA 1976 and CEO of CSX Corporation, will give his insights on the current state of the economy as seen by the nation's leading transportation company.
Repeating this highly successful event, the Club will be hosting another informative and valuable executive luncheon & briefing.
Our featured speaker will be HBS alumnus and CEO of CSX Corporation, Michael Ward, who will provide us an update on our economic recovery as seen by the nation's largest transportation company.
Lunch and light refreshments will be served. $25 for Members and $35 for Non-memembers.

About Michael Ward
Michael J. Ward has served as chairman and chief executive officer of CSX Corporation since January 2003. He was named CSX president in July 2002 and previously had been president of CSX Transportation (CSXT), the corporation's rail unit. During his 30-year business career with the company, he has also served as executive vice president-operations, headed CSXT's coal business unit, managed the planning of the Conrail merger, and was the railroad's chief financial officer.
A native of Baltimore, MD, Mr. Ward earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland in 1972, and received a master's degree in business administration from the Harvard Business School in 1976. Mr. Ward serves on the boards of the Association of American Railroads, Ashland Inc., the Center for Energy and Economic Development, City Year, and Take Stock in Children. His other business affiliations include The Florida Council of 100, The Business Roundtable, and The Kentucky Coal Council.
Mr. Ward was recently recognized as "Railroader of the Year" for 2009 by Railway Age magazine. Mr. Ward is the 46th recipient of the rail industry's most prestigious award. In announcing its selection of Mr. Ward, the magazine wrote, "Ward has led a remarkable turnaround at CSX. Through his leadership, he has brought a level of consistency and profitability to the railroad industry that many just a few short years ago doubted was possible."
