April 8, 2008, marks 100 years to the day the Corporation of Harvard University voted to establish the business school and appointed Edwin F. Gay its first dean. Despite its cautious 5-year experimental authorization, Harvard Business School not only survived but thrived to become a world-renowned institution of advanced studies in the field of business administration and management.

The School's 65,000 alumni are leaders in an exceptionally broad spectrum of industries and a wide range of organizations around the world, including entrepreneurial companies, established firms, government, and social enterprise organizations.
